Set on a private working farm in a quiet, rural location within the stunning Northumberland National Park and International Dark Sky Park. Ravenscleugh is located on The Sandstone Way and adjacent to Pennine Cyleway NCN 68 and is ideally situated for accommodating cyclists and walkers between Rothbury and Bellingham.
The 17th farmhouse is thought to the birthplace of Capability Brown. You can find the site of a Medieval Village, Roman Fort, and the campsite for the Scottish prior the Battle of Otterburn. You can hear curlew from your bedroom windows and you may spot otters in the swimming lake.
We can accommodate large and small groups both in the house and in the furnished bell tents which have access to the downstairs bathroom in the house. Please contact us to discuss your group requirements.
We are happy to provide hearty evening meals and pack lunches which should be arranged prior to arrival.
Family and mud friendly, motorcycle, horse & dogs are welcome to stay. Please note that dogs are now allowed in the bedrooms but we have a lovely heated hallway and a dog cage if you wish to borrow it.
Binoculars, blankets and hot chocolate can be provided for star gazing.
Free wifi. Bike storage, washing facilities and lots of shed space to undertake repairs on site.
Breakfast is served 8-10 as a buffet with a mixture of the following juice, coffee, tea, cereals, yogurts, fruit, bagels, toast, sausages, bacon, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms etc.
Ravenscleugh is a working farm so in the spring you will see calves and lambs and may witness a birth if you are lucky.
Amenities include: 2 Superking Ensuite Bedrooms and 2 Doubles with Private Bathroom. Additional single beds can be added to any of the rooms. Hire the whole house for 2 or more nights – sleeps 10 easily. Camp site with shower/toilet facilities as well as wild camping . 2 furnished bell tents with real beds and electric hook up (sleep 2 each). Wild swimming lake. Secure bike storage. Evening meals & pack lunches.
